Welcome to the web site of Halifax's award winning and pioneering Street Angels. Based at Fairtrade Cafe on Crossley Street, Street Angels provide a safe place and safe people for those using the night economy (Friday and Saturday 9pm - 3am). Halifax Street Angels is a project of Churches Together in Halifax and Halifax YMCA.

Since Street Angels launched in November 2005 violent crime has fallen by over 42% (according to West Yorkshire Police figures) in Halifax Town Centre - the most significant reduction of crime within West Yorkshire.

Halifax Street Angels is an initiative of the Church in Halifax and aims to demonstrate God's Kingdom of safety, crime reduction, hope, love, joy and peace as a reality for our communities.

Halifax Street Angels work alongside Nightlife Marshals (trained security professionals who work on the streets) as well as Police, Nightclubs and Pubs, Businesses, Community Organisations, PubWatch, Halifax Ambassadors and those working in the town centre. Some of our volunteers are also first aid trained. This partnership approach ensures Halifax remains a safe place to be.

All are welcome to see Halifax Street Angels in action or to become involved in this fantastic initiative. Find out more on this web site...
