	MBE for Street Angel Founder Tuesday 5th January 2010 The founder of the highly successful Street Angels initiative, Paul Blakey, was awarded an MBE in the New Year 2010 Honours List. The Member of the Order of the British Empire Award was presented for services to community safety in Halifax. Paul founded the faith based Street Angels just over four years ago. The project still has teams of volunteers patrolling the streets of Halifax on Friday and Saturday nights to ensure the safety of those in the town centre.
