Welcome to the web site of Halifax's award winning and pioneering Street Angels. Since launching in November 2005, Street Angels has:

• contributed to dramatic year on year reduction in crime (by over 50%) in Halifax town centre
  
  
• seen over 8000 volunteers hours per year invested into our locality
  
  
• demonstrated that God's Kingdom is a reality
  
  
• become a model that is copied across the UK and around the World
  

Our aim is simple - to provide a safe place (Fairtrade Cafe) and safe people (volunteer Street Angels) on Friday and Saturday nights between 9pm and 3am.

Street Angels is an initiative of Churches Together and Halifax YMCA. Founded by Paul and Jean Blakey, Street Angels aims to demonstrate that God's Kingdom of safety, crime reduction, hope, love, joy, peace is a reality for our communities. The greatest test to this is when we see our prayers and actions result in thousands of people receiving help and the crime level reducing. This happens not only in Halifax but in many of the towns and cities where Street Angels (and similar projects) run.

Halifax Street Angels work alongside Nightlife Marshals (trained SIA licensed security professionals who work on the streets) as well as Police, Pubs, Nightclubs, Businesses, Regeneration Partnerships, Community and Voluntary Organisations, PubWatch, Council, Halifax Ambassadors and those working in the town centre. This partnership approach ensures Halifax is a much safer place to be.
