Blackpool and Fylde Street Angels...

7/2/2012

The four weeks since Blackpool & Fylde Street Angels launched has, for the most part, been fun: mixing with the revellers, door staff & police, having a good laugh & joke. But as you can see below we have to keep our eyes & ears open at all times & be ready for anything. At some stage most nights the fun stops and we really do become ‘Angels’ on the streets.

Blackpool was very busy last night (Saturday 30th June), with lots of people out & about having a great time & lots of Stags & Hens having that one last blow out with friends & relatives, before their big wedding day. But behind all the smiles, laughs, fun & frolics …

We heard of two stabbings and a fire in the South Shore Area. Street Angels helped 11 young ladies safely into a Mini Bus … Gave out 9 pairs of Flip-Flops to those walking around in bare feet on streets covered with glass & goodness knows what else … We also assisted the police with two assault victims (one a Woman) & dealt with a youth lost in the centre of town, 60 miles from home (Keighley)!!

Since our launch on the 12th June the Blackpool & Fylde Street Angels have done '5' Patrol Nights

Below are just some of the stats for this months report.

All this done with predominantly one team of 3-4 people. How much more could we achieve with 2-3-4 teams of 3-4?? Do you have what it takes to be an Angel? Do you want to be the difference that makes a difference in OUR Blackpool & Fylde… then be an Angel & call us - 07980 019 547. ALL Uniform, Training, CRB & Support are free, all we ask of you: is a few hours of your time: at least once a week, month or even year!!
