Dear friends!
‘It’s goodnight from me….and it’s goodnight from him’ Those are the final last words from the two Ronnies, the late Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett at end of each of their weekly shows. Nevertheless, these are the word that’s what I come to mind to me as I write one last time to volunteers and supporters of Street Angels – CNI Network as I travel back from Nottingham having met with Paul and Steve to lay this ministry down. As many of you will now be aware that in June after much prayer and discussion, it was announced I am to cease in my current post within Street Angels – CNI Network on Sunday 26th August to explore new avenues of ministry, both locally and nationally. It has been a delight to share in the exciting expansion of this charity, firstly as Trustee and then its Director of Development. It has been a raw experience for me to begin saying goodbye with the hundreds of hours invested, friends made and the recognition that having won The Big Society Award is on the verge of greater things but I do look back of two years work with much fondness having being able to work with Paul, the Trustees and the leadership development group. Becky and I have been overwhelmed by the support and messages of best wishes and assurances of prayers whilst serving in our ministry here. It is true that I would only have been able to achieve all that I have with the constant support of Becky. There are only two messages to you all and that would simply be ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’. I have been delighted to serve in the role that I have. As I stated have shared with the Board of Trustees, as each local project moves forward there needs to be a continued recognition and affirmation of the work that volunteers do often working unsocial hours to make sure that town cities are safe on a weekly basis. I also want to express my regret for the times when I have failed to support you as fully as I should. Recently, I have been reading again how God called the Prophet Jeremiah to trust and obey as he sought to give a difficult message to the Jewish nation. Our call, wherever God places us, is to be the same and reflect God’s love and care for the world around. In these last three years since getting involved in the Street Angels movement, I have been encouraged to see God moving as churches and statutory organization work and united together for the community. As Christians, our call is continued blessing as we seek to grow closer to God through our service. I continue to pray that God will bless your endeavours to further the Kingdom of God in your town and locality. In these recent weeks, we have chosen to take the risk to move on to new challenges, but we have done so in the knowledge that this is God’s natural leading for us and the charity. Thank you again for your friendship and love. I would ask your prayers for both Becky and I as we enter this new phase of our life, especially with a baby due soon. I leave you with a prayer which I hope you are able to use on your journey of faith: Heavenly father You are with always with us, For we are your people and you are our God; trusting in you, we can do more than we can either hope or dream Guide us by your Holy Spirit, Enable us to discover our own God given gifts Empower us to serve you and the people of this place and time This we ask through Jesus Christ. Amen And just a practical note to conclude, all Street Angels – CNI Network related matters after Sunday 26th August should be directed to Paul Blakey, Founder of Street Angels - CNI Network (e: [email protected]) With the assurances of continued thoughts and prayers, Adam Our thanks to Adam and Becky for all they have invested into the work of SA-CNI... We hopefully join with you in wishing them well as a family and also in the new avenues of ministry. Paul and Trustees Comments are closed.
