Funding Opportunities

Tearfund has funding available to support community outreach programmes that are seeking to replicate their work, skills and practice in new communities. 

The Replicate/Resource programme exists to support the development and implementation of strategies that:

•       seek to replicate best practice Christian community development projects;
•       seek to significantly resource new and emerging church projects to holistically transform people’s lives through the provision of expertise and ongoing support.

Small grant funding (up to £10,000 and for a maximum of 3 years) and capacity development support will be made available to successful applicants to develop and implement their strategies in partnership with Tearfund.  Tearfund is interested in supporting strategies that have yet to be developed, rather than strategies that have already reached implementation.
 
Applications from active local community projects/organisations, birthed out of local churches will be prioritised.   Applications that demonstrate they are able to deliver more specialised expertise rather than purely general community development expertise will also be prioritised.

The Cross Pollinate Foundation welcomes requests from small Christian social action charities to present at its next event taking place on Tuesday 6th November 2012 in central London. 

Grant Amount: £5,000-£25,000 (depending on audience response)

2012 Mustard Seed AwardsThe search is on for the most exciting and promising initiatives by Christians wanting to reach vulnerable people and transform lives. 

 The Awards, run jointly by Premier Radio and the Christian Initiative Trust (CIT) offer up to £50,000 of investment to the winners of the nation-wide competition.  The top, gold award is worth £12,000 with Silver and Bronze awards also up for grabs, at £10,000 and £8,000 respectively.

The judges are looking for originality and innovation and the potential to really make a difference.  The award winners will be individuals passionate about making things happen and who have both entrepreneurial and ambitious spirit to change society for the better.

“We are looking for exceptional people who understand the power that Christians can have in effecting real change, in making things happen and in finding innovative solutions to the problems of the 21st century.  We believe that great things can come from small beginnings and that this sort of money can achieve a great deal in the hands of ambitious and determined people.  We want to celebrate the ingenuity and passion that Christians have for making the world a better place.”
 
The Christian Initiative Awards seek to give recognition and opportunity to brilliant and talented individuals doing great work as an expression of their Christian love.  They are looking for ideas that enable Christians to get more engaged with their communities or to tackle problems in new ways.
 
Individual Christians, churches and Christian organisations of all denominations are eligible to apply and applications are particularly encouraged from black, minority or ethnic communities.

Applications for the Christian Initiative Awards must be made on the published application form, which can be downloaded from the Christian Initiative Trust website, www.christianinitiativetrust.org.uk.  Ambitious Christians need to get their applications to us by 28th September 2012.
