Happy New Year update from CNI Network

1/3/2017

Happy New Year! Many thanks for all you and your team have contributed to your local community and towards the change in the British culture (as alcohol related violence and A&E admissions reduce).

As we enter a new year we wanted to highlight a few one-off initiatives CNI Network is involved in and ask if you could pass these onto your volunteers:

  • BIG CHURCH DAY OUT
Once again CNI Network is heading up welfare at this major Christian festival. The festival will take place over 2 weekends - 27-28 May in West Sussex and 2-3 June in Cheshire. Volunteers will receive free entry, back stage camp site area and meals. Other volunteering roles are available especially at the Northern event (as this is the first time in the North!). See cninetwork.org/bigchurchdayout for details and to sign up.

  • BEACH MISSION SPAIN
CNI has worked with a Beach Mission who are based in the Netherlands and run mission trips to 3 resorts in Spain each year (Salou, Blanes and Lloret de Mar). This year the mission will include Street Angels type patrols. This is an ideal opportunity for volunteers from the UK to go to Spain and share your experience and expertise to holiday-makers in Spanish resorts. Visit uk.beachmission.org for details. There are also opportunities to serve with The Living Room (thelivingroom.es) team in Tenerife and other overseas projects - contact the group for more details.

  • FESTIVALS
CNI will be helping run the Leeds Festival Angels again this year - last year we had 175 volunteers from all over the North of England and are looking for a similar number this year. We have also had discussions with Festival Republic about replicating the model at other festivals (eg Download, V, Creamfields, T in the Park) - if you have links / contacts or a more local festival we are happy to support you in that. More details at festivalnetwork.org.uk

  • CNI SUNDAY & DAY OF PRAYER
We have an annual Day of Prayer for the Night-Time Economy on 28th February with ideas (and hopefully a video) to raise awareness of CNI and your project in church services on the last Sunday in February (26th). Visit cninetwork.org/dayofprayer for details - please do use this opportunity!

  • CONFERENCE
Next year (2018) CNI Network will be celebrating 10 years. As part of this our ambitious plan is to tour around the regions with a mini-conference and celebration event which we are planning throughout 2017/18. More details will be available soon - but if you would like to host a conference in your area please contact Paul to chat further!

  • #FaithAndPoliceTogether
CNI is one of the lead organisations on this new initiative aiming to celebrate and promote initiatives run by faith communities around policing priorities. Visit faithandpolicetogether.org.uk for more details.

  • TRUSTEES
As CNI Network grows and develops we are looking for new trustees to help facilitate this. We are just in the process of putting together the details but if this is something that would interest you please contact Paul.

If you follow CNI Network on facebook.com/cninetwork or twitter.com/cninet you will have seen the feature on Manchester Street Angels in The Sun and on BBC1. Please use this as a way of promoting your local project! You will also have seen that Paul has become an Assessor for The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services which is helping raise our profile and shows CNI Network’s commitment to the wider voluntary sector. Thank you to all those who stand with us in prayer, financially and through practical support to help us achieve all we achieve.

Many thanks - CNI Network
