In December 2012 we celebrated our 4th Birthday and now in February 2013 we are making fast headway into our 5th year. Today I decided to add up the number of hours that all our volunteers have worked for Sanktuary during these last 4 years. Using the absolute minimum figure of 5 volunteers working 5 hours for each of the nights we have worked since December 2012 I reached a figure of over 3,300. This is simply a minimum estimate as it doesn't include the many visitors we have had helping us or the many many nights when we have more than 5 volunteers! Seeing such a figure like that makes me feel so proud to be part of this project. I enjoy every night that I volunteer for Sanktuary - even the nights when horrid things happen - because I know that I have helped people and that is why I am happy to give up one nights sleep every month.
