Happy New Year! Thanks for all that your project and amazing team of volunteers have done in 2012! Our Annual Report highlights some of the amazing things that have happened in 2012 - from the Big Society Award to lives saved on the streets - it is humbling to be part of an amazing movement of faith in action! If you look at the Blogs below you will see December was an amazing month! For me the highlight was speaking to around 600 young people with Lee Jackson at Carr Manor School in Leeds who were holding a day looking at volunteering. Several teachers were inspired to volunteer as Street Angels and pupils asked lots of questions and gave great feedback. It was also great to receive a Christmas card from Prime Minister David and Samantha Cameron (see below - for all the local projects and volunteers) and to join Macclesfield Street Angels and MP David Rutley on Mad Friday. As we move forward to 2013 we are looking forward to our conference in August, where we hope people from every project in the UK will come together to meet one another and enjoy an incredible two days. Please pass details on this to your volunteers... We also have a few new aspects that will help you within your work - including a special insurance deal, on-line shop, monthly prayer for local projects and education resource - details are in this leaflet. A comment on Twitter, around the news of the Telford Sanktuary project had saved the life of a young lady who had stopped breathing, said - "What you peeps do is the heartbeat of faith" - Amen!!! God bless and Happy New Year, Paul and Jean Dry January: SA-CNI is supporting the Alcohol Concern initiative Dry January... Feel better. Save money. Make a difference. Your chance to ditch the hangover, reduce the waistline, and save the pennies. Your mission: to avoid that cheeky after work pint, that glass of wine on the sofa, or that big boozy night out, for the whole month. Several charities are asking people to donate some of the money saved on booze - so that your efforts can make a difference to others. If you wish you could support the national work of Street Angels - CNI Network or of a local project - do this via www.localgiving.com/streetangels (if you wish to support a local project please indicate which one in the message). Why stay off booze for 31 days? With Christmas excess gone, banish the booze this January and make a healthy start to the new year. By taking on the challenge you’re sure to lose a few pounds while saving a few quid. And with no hangovers you’ll find time and energy you never knew you had, oh and your skin will look nicer too. So go on, take time out, get thinking about your drinking and prove to yourself that you can say no to a tipple or two.
